Job Description:

We are currently looking to hire a SENIOR INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER within the Security Architecture & Engineering team, which is a part of LPL s Technology Information Security organization. This individual supports multiple security-related platforms and technologies, interfacing with others within the IT organization, as well as other internal business units and partners. Will create and maintain functional and technical design specifications and solutions to satisfy security project requirements. Identify and implement appropriate testing strategies. Execute all steps required to deploy/implement the application solution.

The Sr Engineer reports to the AVP of SOC Solutions and is an involved member of the SOC team. This role must display an in-depth understanding of new trends and technologies related to IT security and compliance, and contribute to the company IT security strategy and roadmap.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

As an active member of the team, monitor and process response for security events on a 24x7 basis.

* Provide engineering support to all IT and security technical towers

* Review and analyze the security of business requirements, as well as the design of solutions for new and existing applications; determine scope and gather work estimates for security projects

* Identify and evaluate security vendor software and integration strategies

* Leverage automation and orchestration solutions to automate repetitive tasks.

* Work alongside other security team members to hunt for and identify security issues generated from the network, including third-party relationships.

* Share information as directed with other team members and ISACs.

* Seek opportunities to drive efficiencies.

* Initiate and help establish guidelines and controls

* Evaluate SOC policies and procedures, and recommend updates to management as appropriate.

* Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs), metrics and business scorecard obligations for ticket handling of security incidents and events.

* Participate in threat modeling collaboration with other members of the security team.

* Leverage knowledge in multiple security disciplines, such as Windows, Unix, Linux, data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint controls, databases, wireless security and data networking, to offer global solutions for a complex heterogeneous environment.

* Maintain working knowledge of advanced threat detection as the industry evolves.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of information security monitoring and response or related experience. * Experience working in a 24x7 operational environment, with geographic disparity preferred.

* Experience working with SIEM systems, threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration solutions, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), file integrity monitoring (FIM), DLP and other network and system monitoring tools.

* Demonstrated ability to translate business and nonfunctional requirements to establish security controls that ensure a proper security design can be architected; ability to document the security solutions for communication and training

* Strong knowledge of and experience with designing and implementing technical security solutions such as secure remote access, firewalls, encryption, secure protocols, data protection, data loss prevention and identity management solutions, both internally and within cloud-provided services

* Experience designing and incorporating technical security controls that align to industry standards (ISO27001, NIST 800-53r4)

* Experience designing and managing security controls within service providers and the cloud

* Strong knowledge of data and information flows, information governance and network protocols

* Knowledge of a variety of Internet protocols.

* Scripting (Powershell, Python, Bash, etc)

* Solid background in security architecture, including a deep understanding of computer operating systems, VMware, Windows 7/10, Windows Server (2008 current), Linux and cloud technologies

* Track record of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating effectively.

* Working knowledge/experience with network systems, security principles, applications and risk and compliance initiatives such as Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Health Information Portability and Accountability Ace (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
