SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION: Scope of responsibilities falls under the job description of a Registered nurse in the Operating Room. The Service Leader provides direction and nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed. Assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others by communicating with and utilizing resources and programs. Utilizes the nursing process in all aspects of the provision of care, individualizing the plan of care to address specific patients needs. Responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. Serves as a preceptor to staff orienting to the service. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: AA/AS Degree; BSN Degree preferred. Two to three years experience of Operating Room RN experience.
