As a Instrument Technician, installs and troubleshoots all plant traceability equipment. Understands the operation of plant equipment and processes; makes process improvements and recommendations. Supports plant equipment to ensure a minimum of downtime.
What You Will Do
Technical:
Installs and maintains pneumatic, mechanical, electronic traceability and electromechanical equipment.
Analyzes and resolves electrical problems, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Traces and corrects control loop malfunctions; provides support to maintenance and production teams concerning instrument systems.
Repairs, calibrates and cleans all instruments, pressure switches, flow tubes and gauges to ensure minimal downtime and efficient utilization of pneumatic and electronic equipment.s
Provides direction to plant electricians, automation technicians and mechanics as needed to complete repairs.
Isolates and corrects defective valves, broken diaphragms contaminated systems, improperly working electronic units, and other malfunctions on inefficient processes.
Designs component changes on replacement devices for more efficient and accurate usage.
What You Need
High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years experience working with process control instruments, circuits, pneumatic and electronic equipment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
~ OR ~Technical degree in electrical technology (or related field) plus 3 years of experience with process control instruments, circuits, pneumatic and electronic equipment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Willing and able to work any assigned shift (swing, or graveyard) weekends and overtime.
Knowledge of industrial electronics.
Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
What Will Set You Apart
College or trade school course experience to include courses in electronics, controls, pneumatics and hydraulics.
Allen Bradley PCL experience.
Experience reading and interpreting precision measuring equipment, electrical, instrumentation and PI&D prints.
Knowledge of common instrumentation (to include: temperature, flow, weight, pressure) and the equipment used to calibrate them.
