As a Instrument Technician, installs and troubleshoots all plant traceability equipment. Understands the operation of plant equipment and processes; makes process improvements and recommendations. Supports plant equipment to ensure a minimum of downtime.

What You Will Do

Technical:


  • Installs and maintains pneumatic, mechanical, electronic traceability and electromechanical equipment.

  • Analyzes and resolves electrical problems, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

  • Traces and corrects control loop malfunctions; provides support to maintenance and production teams concerning instrument systems.

  • Repairs, calibrates and cleans all instruments, pressure switches, flow tubes and gauges to ensure minimal downtime and efficient utilization of pneumatic and electronic equipment.s

  • Provides direction to plant electricians, automation technicians and mechanics as needed to complete repairs.

  • Isolates and corrects defective valves, broken diaphragms contaminated systems, improperly working electronic units, and other malfunctions on inefficient processes.

  • Designs component changes on replacement devices for more efficient and accurate usage.

What You Need


  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years experience working with process control instruments, circuits, pneumatic and electronic equipment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility

    ~ OR ~Technical degree in electrical technology (or related field) plus 3 years of experience with process control instruments, circuits, pneumatic and electronic equipment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Willing and able to work any assigned shift (swing, or graveyard) weekends and overtime.

  • Knowledge of industrial electronics.

  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

What Will Set You Apart


  • College or trade school course experience to include courses in electronics, controls, pneumatics and hydraulics.

  • Allen Bradley PCL experience.

  • Experience reading and interpreting precision measuring equipment, electrical, instrumentation and PI&D prints.

  • Knowledge of common instrumentation (to include: temperature, flow, weight, pressure) and the equipment used to calibrate them.
