Sales Training- Senior Manager - Pharma at Shionogi Inc.

Job Description:

The Sales Training, Sr. Manager will lead live and remote training for a growing sales organization and be responsible for assisting with the design, development, and implementation of training programs in a variety of formats and media while ensuring completeness and accuracy.  Will oversee the revision all training curricula via the annual review process.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assist with leading, managing and communicating appropriate Commercial Training and Development programs and resources to all customer segments to help support the commercial organization’s strategic goals.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of: account selling model; sales training curriculums; salesforce assessment center; POA training; new product training and ongoing product specific training.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to design, implement and revise training curricula to support current and future business needs.

  • Work with key internal departments (Marketing, Sales, Legal, Medical, Regulatory, and Compliance) to ensure all training materials are reviewed and approved prior to field dissemination.

  • Design, Develop, Deliver, Implement and Assess Clinical, Platform and Business Acumen Training Curricula independently and with vendors.

  • Clinical product(s) and disease state(s) training expert.

  • Work with and manage vendors for the development and enhancement of training curricula as needed.

  • Work with internal and external colleagues to design, implement and facilitate training workshops at POA/National Sales Meetings to help the sales consultants apply current/new/revised marketing messages and skills.

  • Conduct all Initial Training programs, Train the Trainer and National/POA training sessions.

  • Facilitate and evaluate role plays and product certifications in various selling situations.

  • Support a home study curriculum that allows new hires to be prepared for formal training class.

  • Thoroughly and effectively evaluate trainee performance and communicate trainee progress/performance with management.

  • Assess the training and developmental needs of Sales Consultants through various methods, including field visits. Evaluate the effectiveness of the training and takes appropriate steps to continuously enhance the quality of the training curriculum via assessments, field rides and feedback. 

  • Develop, maintain, evaluate and deliver sales training/continuous learning curricula via the Sales Training LMS. Assist in its design and development to ensure it is consistent with career pathway initiatives.

  • Update and maintain the Sales Training Learning Management System. Continuously evaluate and enhance course offerings consistent with commercial goals.

  • Maintain working knowledge of all products to support team member Sales Trainers.

  • Model the way for all new hires, SCs, DMs, & RDs of the standards of excellence and ownership on all training initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 6 years in pharmaceutical industry to include a successful track-record as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative.

  • 2 years minimum of sales training experience with strong “platform” skills.

  • Deep knowledge of the hospital selling environment and account management experience.

  • Experience with anti-infectives is a plus.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical, medical and managed care environments.

  • Solid Presentation and Facilitation skills with the ability to generate Enthusiasm and Credibility.

  • Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Quickly identifies key issues and makes appropriate decisions/judgments.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively across functions as a team player to seamlessly help to achieve common goals.

  • Demonstrated project management skills along with strong attention to details.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with numerous variables in dynamic situations.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, market, and customers.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytic.al and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; advanced application in PowerPoint.

  • Leverage technology platforms such as, but not limited to: LMS, Adobe Connect, Articulate, Survey Monkey, WebEx, etc.

  • Travel approximately 25%.

  • Experience utilizing adult learning concepts, state-of-the-art training techniques and proven project management principles.

  • DM/Management experiences a plus.

  • Must live a commutable distance to our US Corporate Headquarters in Florham Park, NJ.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to articulate clearly and conduct verbal presentations with large and small audiences.

  • Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane.

  • Ability to view video display terminal images < 18” away from face for extended period of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.

  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.

  • Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
