Kleinfelder has an immediate opening for a Wetland Scientist/Permitting Specialist to join our team in Eastern Pennsylvania (Exton, Allentown, Mechanicsburg) or New Jersey (Mt Laurel, Hamilton, Princeton).

The successful candidate will work with a dynamic team of environmental professionals to develop and implement innovative technical solutions on projects for a wide variety of clientele in private, public, NGO and educational forums.

Responsibilities include:

- Planning for and performing as the lead on field investigations:

- Wetland and Stream Delineation

- Habitat Assessments and Delineation

- Botanical Surveys

- Threatened and Endangered Species Evaluation

- Authoring and performing technical review of reports, performing calculations, and conduct analyses.

- Preparation and execution of Federal, state, and local permit applications and Environmental Impact Statements.

- Wetland Mitigation and Stream Restoration Design.

- Wetland Mitigation and Stream Restoration Monitoring.

- Proposal preparation, contract management, budgeting, scheduling.

- Communicating with staff and regulatory agencies on multidisciplinary projects.

- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client-specific requirements.

Qualified candidates should possess:

- Significant experience performing natural resource surveys (wetland and stream delineations, habitat assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, etc.) independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Experience preparing reports, including but not limited to: Federal and State Permit Applications, etc., environmental impact statements, etc.).

- Experience preparing permit Federal (Section 404) and State applications for impacts to natural resources for public and private clients.

- Strong written and data evaluation skills.

- Strong ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

Required:

- 5-10 years of direct experience.

- Candidate must have prior direct work experience working on a range of project types, e.g. linear power, commercial, industrial.

- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Wildlife Biology, Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.

- Certified Soil Scientist credentials (with ARCPACS or SSSSNE, or equivalent) is a plus.

- Qualified applicants will be experienced in state and federal wetlands and land use regulatory permitting.

- PWS not required.
