Quality Assurance Inspector at Pelican Products

Job Description:

Summary:
The Quality Inspector will independently perform inspections on parts, materials, customer returns and supplies received from vendors, perform in-process production inspections, and ensure products comply with quality standards prior to shipment. Inspector will verify that suppliers comply with company quality program requirements. Issues acceptance or rejection tags based on outcome of inspections, checking with supervisor/manager on more difficult determinations. Follows company procedures to document rejected parts. Initiates routing of paperwork to ensure purchasing, inventory, and accounting records remain accurate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts inspections on first articles, customer returns, in-process, and incoming; completes final inspections, inspects staged products prior to shipments to clients.
- Initiates Non-Conformance reports as required.
- Inputs key inspection process metrics for trending and monitoring purposes
- Performs accurate physical and visual inspections of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per inspection plans and specification requirements.
- Performs product identification and traceability activities.
- Reads and interprets specification and drawings.
- Works with personnel to resolve inspection questions.
- Follows all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, and other safety procedures in accordance to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
- General computer knowledge required. Must be able to enter information into excel databases, in addition to keeping accurate records.
- Familiar with manufacturing environment, inspecting, testing, sampling, and sorting of products/goods being manufactured.
- Comfortable with basic machinery and able to learn equipment test procedures where required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-year technical degree.
- Two years' experience within a recognized quality program (ISO, ASTM, GMP).

- Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to execute physical activities within the production areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch). Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
