RESPONSIBILITIES

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Voice Switch and Recording Program Office is made up of seven different programs related to the voice communication activities of Air Traffic Control. These programs range from the maintainence of Legacy equipment currently fielded across the United States to design of new systems and procurement of future equipment. The Test Engineer will be focused on supporting the FAA in modernizing existing air traffic control voice communications capabilities of the National Airspace System (NAS). The Test Engineer must analyze and assess technical solutions, designs, and requirements for effective planning and implementation. The Test Engineer will leverage knowledge and experience in Information Systems and networking to support testing and acceptance activities throughout the systems development life cycle. The Test Engineer will assist with the design and implementation of test automation. The Test Engineer will interact with a team comprised of Noblis, Subcontractor, and FAA staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must possess a bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field plus 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

The candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

* Designing test automation

* Developing test procedures

* Stand up capability to test a given specification or interface requirements document

* Test protocol compliance including, but not limited to, network protocols

* Set up test environments including server, network, and storage configuration

* Documenting Program Trouble Reports (PTRs) for system failures, anomalies, and requirement violations

Desired qualifications:

* Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration

* Detailed knowledge of National Airspace System Voice Communications Systems

* Experience with System Requirement and Design Validation or Verification

* Experience in utilizing a multifaceted set of test and analysis tools

* Managing and coordinating test lab configuration activities

* Experience in operating, analyzing, testing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based systems

* Ability to collect and analyze data, and communicate technical information
