Your Responsibilities

As a User Experience Researcher for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will be responsible for performing end-user research to gain insights that will influence and drive an intentional user experience for our worldwide customers, dealers, and employees. In addition, you will:


  • Support several Manufacturing Business capabilities and initiatives through end user research and usability testing including direct behavioral observation, focus groups, surveys, click testing, card sorting, interviews, and other well-known research techniques.
  • Perform subjective and objective research both qualitatively and quantitatively, to gather deep end-user understanding.
  • Generate insights and recommendations that influence the design of products, orchestrate flows across products, and ease complex user interactions
  • Communicate research insights resulting in recommendations and priorities for user-centric design
  • Work closely with UX Designers to bring experiences to life, while making data-driven decisions based on the research gathered

What Skills You Need


  • 6+ years of experience in the UX industry
  • 4+ years of experience with user research methods including focus groups, user interviews and direct observation sessions
  • 4+ years of experience with usability testing methods including click testing, direct observation scenario testing, and surveys

  • 2+ Years of experience with UX tools including Adobe CC, Sketch, Invisionapp, Photoshop, etc.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to lead complex discussions, research sessions, and workshops
  • Ability to convert user research data into recommendations and priorities
  • Experience working with usage metrics and goal-oriented analytics

What Makes You Stand Out


  • 4+ years of work experience designing, building and/or managing digital user interfaces
  • Direct experience with John Deere Engineering and Manufacturing processes
  • Experience with user research and usability testing on mobile devices
  • Visual and interaction design experience

Education


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Human Computer Interaction, Usability, Graphic Arts/Digital Design, Industrial Design, Psychology, or related discipline
