A newly established Surgery Center in Southern California is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead their brand new facility. The ambulatory surgery center is centrally located near Orange County and San Diego in a modest community that offers affordable living costs.

The Director of Nursing will work with a quality team of surgeons and perioperative staff that are excited to work in this new ASC. The Director of Nursing will report to the Surgery Center Administrator. The DON will have oversight of the Pre-Op, Operating Suites, and PACU. This technologically advanced surgery center is equipped with three operating rooms and the surgical staff will offer Endoscopy, GI, General and Bariatric surgery. As the management company recruits more providers to work at this center, the services offers will expand.

The Director of Nursing will utilize their years of experience in perioperative services to train and implement evidence based practices to ensure quality patient outcomes. Moreover, the DON will act as the Risk Manager, Infection Control Professional and Quality Director for all survey inspections. The Nurse Director may be called upon to work hands on in any facet of the surgery center to provide breaks for staff, fill in during times of tight staffing and to educate bedside.

The senior level leadership team at this new ambulatory surgery center is experienced in the field and has other successful outpatient surgery centers throughout the area. As an independently owned facility, the DON will find themselves in a position to make an immediate impact. Writing policies, procedures and establishing principles for quality patient care will be a large part of this position.
