Mortgage Funder Opportunity Overview



As a Mortgage Funder with Banner Bank you will Provide assistance to the Mortgage Servicing Director, including training of 1-4 family loan funding staff and ensure TRID, investor, and other appropriate compliance requirements are met for funding documentation.                                                                                                                                                                                      


As a Mortgage Funder with Banner Bank you will have the opportunity to:



  • Assist the manager in overseeing the daily activities of loan funding staff and provide training for reviewing closing documentation, balancing and funding the transaction, completing the funding process in Encompass, and establishing the loan record in JH from both accounting and data                                                               

  • Coordinate workload assignments for funding department to ensure the most efficient use of resources and to make sure department deadlines are met daily, weekly and monthly                                          

  • Ensure loans have correct, complete and accurate loan security documents and shipping documents as needed per specific loan programs         

  • Ensure funded loans have complete and accurate CIF and loan records established in the core system of record

  • Review weekly and monthly reports due to QA and/or Internal Audit reports    

  • Assist in training new employees as well as keeping the existing loan funding back-up staff informed of changes and updates in closing and funding procedures and work closely with supervisor to identify training issues                                            

  • Prepare files for the secondary market and servicing teams as they prepare to sell and/or service the customer going forward                                                        

  • Comply with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations



Qualifications



Education & Certifications




  • H.S. Diploma in required

  • Associate's Degree in Business or other related field preferred



Experience




  • 1 or more years of experience in mortgage servicing, secondary marketing, origination, closing or funding required



Preferred Skills




  • Proficient in closing and funding processes and systems, including Encompass, Jack Henry, OnBase, and the wire system/process                            

  • Possess strong organizational, problem solving, research, decision making, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills with the ability to work within defined timeframes and make deadlines. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, set priorities and handle multiple tasks          

  • Proficient knowledge of 1-4 family loan closings, including FHA, VA, Conventional, Construction, Jumbo, Investor, and Lot loans                                         

  • Proficient in MS Office products with the ability to learn new software applications. Knowledge of general business methods and techniques                      

  • Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to exercise good judgment, accept responsibility, and handle confidential information in a secure manner  

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to real estate closing and funding. General knowledge of the mortgage industry
