Cognizant Internal Communications Overview

Cognizant is expanding its Global Internal Communications team to accelerate the company’s cadence of business and strategic communications for our global associates, drive employment engagement and retention, and elevate our diverse, dynamic and innovative culture through internal communication best practices and tools.

Focus of the role

Cognizant Digital Systems and Technology (DS&T) is 120,000 associates strong and is the team clients trust to guide them through their digital journey and win the Cloud battle.

As Internal Communications Manager, you will be a driving force in planning and executing on day-to-day and strategic communications initiatives to keep associates informed on DS&T’s business performance, priorities and progress while creating a culture in which associates feel recognized and are proud of their work.

You will work cross-functionally across a global team and collaborate with team members to develop face-to-face and virtual communications through our digital channels to help position the service line for success, engage associates on the direction of our strategy and share our Cloud story. Focus areas include content creation and management, communications campaign development, leadership communications and special project support.

You will be a self-starter experienced working with all leadership levels who understands how to convert internal communications strategies into measurable business results. The ability to juggle multiple projects, work on tight deadlines and work occasional flex hours.

This role is based in North America (preferably ET) and is part of the Global Internal Communications team reporting to the DS&T director of internal communications. 

Responsibilities

• Create content – from concept to writing, editing, uploading and publishing through our suite of comms tools.


• Manage internal communications campaigns from conception to rollout.


• Partner with business and corporate functions to draft well-informed communications and roll out communications initiatives that support DS&T’s strategy.


• Develop leadership messages and communications to drive understanding of DS&T strategy, vision and values.


• Offer ideas, best practices and leadership within the global internal communications team and our stakeholders.


• Manage multiple project timelines and deliverables.

Skills & Experience

Required:

• Proven experience in corporate or internal communications in a corporate or agency environment.


• Ability to keep a cool head and flex hours in the face of ambiguity, multiple deadlines, and emerging challenges and priorities.


• Advanced proficiency in writing English-language communications.


• Prior experience working with CMS packages and communication analytics on SaaS platforms, Google Analytics, etc.


• Versed in new and emerging communications technologies and practices.


• Ability to think creatively and strategically.


• Passionate about driving employee engagement, employee experience and executive thought leadership.


• Proven experience working with senior leaders and thought leaders.


• Prior experience working for a global B2B company is preferred


• Bachelor's Degree (Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism or Marketing degree preferred).

Primary Location

North America – will work remotely with occasional travel once it becomes safe.
