Job Description:

We are looking for a talented 3rd Shift Assembly Shop Operations Manager to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Engine business segment in Columbus, IN. Due to customer demand the Manufacturing plant is working 6 days a week; 7:45pm – 6:15am.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:



  • Leading the 3rd shift Area Managers (4)





  • Provides manufacturing leadership and improvement focus in operations driving results, creating and monitoring measures, providing motivation, and setting expectations in safety, quality, delivery and cost.





  • Effectively communicates with customers, suppliers, shop floor, stakeholders, and staff.





  • Leads annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for manufacturing operations.





  • Manages, coaches, and develops staff; works with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.




To be successful in this role you will need the following:



  • 3rd Shift Manufacturing Experience preferred.





  • Prior Leadership experience for making tactical decisions for all areas.





  • Driving improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.





  • Effectively communicate cross-shift with peers on 1st shift.





  • Experience making sure performance management deliverables are met.





  • Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial, leadership, and budgetary experience.





  • Engineering or Manufacturing degree required.




Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
