Description


This is a part-time position working 26.25 hours per week. This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.

This HUB Administrator will be working closely with the leadership team of a USAID-funded project, STOP Spillover, as well as the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR). The position reports to the Project Manager with a dotted line to the Hub Lead. The Hub Lead sets the work agenda and priorities and provides performance oversight on a daily basis. The Hub Administrator also works closely with faculty members on the project, especially those affiliated with the Hub. Multiple schools and departments are involved in the STOP Spillover project. A number of faculty work with the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. This department combines public/population health, international medicine, wildlife and conservation medicine and infectious disease teaching and research to improve human, animal and ecosystem health locally, nationally and internationally.

The Cummings School is seeking an experienced part time (75%) Hub Administrator to coordinate the programmatic and fiscal activities of a sub-unit of a USAID funded five-year program, STOP Spillover, to understand and address threats posed by zoonotic viral diseases that can “spill over” from animals to humans, such as SARS-CoV-2, in an effort to reduce risk of infection, amplification, and spread. Background in health or biological sciences with management skills, demonstrated successful grant-writing experience, and excellent communication skills are key requirements for this position.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 3 years in health or biological sciences and/or management
  • Undergraduate degree with background in health or biological sciences or management.
  • Valid US Driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, under supervision, and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience in health or biological sciences and/or grants management.
  • Graduate degree with background in health or biological sciences or management.
