Clinical Lab Scientist

POSITION SUMMARY

ImmunityBio is looking for a state-licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist who will support the development and execution of clinical assays.  Candidates should have the skill set to work both independently and in a team environment.  The ability to multi-task with attention to detail is a must.  This position will have cross-functional responsibilities, including assay development, sample testing, equipment maintenance, and reagent preparation, in addition to other routine tasks in a highly complex clinical diagnostic laboratory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform highly complex testing according to established SOPs (ELISA, qPCR, and NGS).




• Operate automated 8-span and 96-head liquid handling platforms for sample processing.




• Demonstrate commitment to quality and continuous improvement.




• Complete projects under the guidance of senior lab personnel.




• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and as needed equipment maintenance checks.




• Review and write SOPs as needed.




• Participate in reagent and assay quality control and validations as needed.




• Assist other team members when needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum BS in a Biological or Life Science




• 2+ years of relevant lab experience in a CLIA/CAP lab




• Licensed Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS) or CLS Generalist




• Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (CLIA/CAP)

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols




• Ability to learn new tasks in appropriate timeframes




• Knowledge and experience working with DNA manipulation techniques, enzymatic reactions, and sequencing chemistry




• Familiarity with high throughput platforms and standard molecular laboratory equipment (pipettes, thermocyclers, liquid handlers, etc.)




• Experience with ensuring and maintaining the integrity and quality of the lab (sample processing, equipment, SOPs)




• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
