Purpose Statement / Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing patient care in a safe an effective manner. Additional responsibilities include directing the Patient Care Technician activity, synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/intervention, and teaching of patients/family, implementation of treatment plan/MD orders, and documentation and evaluation per unit standards. Collaboration between healthcare team members and Integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities. Position requires the full understanding thru active participation in fulfilling the Saddleback Medical Center (SMC) mission and core values. Employee understands and supports the organizations strategic plan, lean initiatives for continuous performance improvement, patient safety, and patient centered care.Experience:

' One year acute care experience in Emergency and/or Critical Care nursing preferred. In lieu of

this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and

associated experiential background.

' Electronic Medical Record experience desirable

Education:

' Current CA RN license

' BSN (required within 48 months of hire)

' AHA Health Care Provider Card (BCLS)

' Current ALS

' Current PALS (If employee is new to specialty; required 6 month from hire date)

' NIHSS certification
