Position Details:

To perform specific duties of a breast radiology representative and provide assistance for the proper function of the department. This includes the processing of new orders, imaging records management, scheduling of patients, report distribution, computer system utilization, and interaction with patients, physicians and other hospital personnel.

This position is responsible for coordinating communications activities between radiologist, radiology staff, other departments, nursing personnel and other caregivers, patients, visitors and other customer's service activity. It is accountable for maintenance of physicians order entries, inbound and outbound call volume productivity. Scheduling same day walk in patients. Patient Access Scheduler also support record maintenance inclusive of all clerical functions, such as, filing of the patient's radiology folder, uploading patient medical records to the PACS, downloading patient's medical records for check out or sends out to other facilities, sending radiology reports to patient or physician's offices as requested. Prepares requests to examinations for technologist or radiologist. Scheduling of breast care procedures is required. Minimum Requirements:

Experience

Proficient in computer functions, data entry and windows is required.

One year experience in radiology records and/or medical scheduling preferred.

Knowledge and use of medical terminology is preferred.
