Description

 

This role will support the development of materials management strategies aligned with the AC division goals. Areas of focus may include packaging, logistics, inventory management, ERP systems management, and internal materials flow. Additionally, the student in this role will be responsible for using our tools to track finished goods returnable during an order. The student may assist with any returns from customers and ensure uninterrupted supply for production is available. This position also focuses on continuous improvement and assignment goals may be adjusted based on the interest of, and input from, the student coupled with current business priorities. 

 AS A CO-OP MATERIALS MANAGEMENT/LEAN YOU WILL: 

  • Work with engineers and analysts on inventory reduction/optimization projects
  • Assist and facilitate Kaizen events
  • Create value stream maps for materials process flow and Oracle Transition Team
  • Assist with safety related continuous improvement projects
  • Print, review, and distribute reports
  • Count purchased parts assigned to ledgers
  • Expedite/de-expedite parts as necessary
  • Verify finished goods production reporting
  • Coordinate project requests from Engineers

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Able to work 40 hours a week (Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm) during the scheduled semester

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Undergraduate student pursuing BS in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Materials, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Leadership in school or community organizations preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strongly prefer a 3.0 GPA or higher
