Directors are liaisons among the partner, the client, and the professional staff. Directors are responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously and scheduling, staffing, and coordinating workflow. Directors develop and train staff and build relationships to develop new business for the Firm. Advanced technical skills along with well-developed and applied management and supervisory skills are required.
 

Required Experience and Education:



  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience in healthcare accounting and consulting, demonstrating a progression in complexity and scope.

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Current and valid CPA license required.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business for the Firm

  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting software, or software appropriate to practice group

Job Requirements:



  • Assumes responsibilities for project management

  • Maintains contact with client throughout the year; possesses a thorough knowledge of the client and all facets of client's business

  • Maintains familiarity with qualifications of all staff members; reviews staff assignments for appropriateness

  • Supervises staff and provides on-the-job training; reviews workpapers and reports prepared by staff

  • Anticipates problem areas and questions that will arise during the course of a project

  • Keeps partner informed of all important developments; analyzes problems and recommends solutions.

  • Ensures that engagements and reports comply with professional and Firm standards

  • Communicates progress of projects, problems, and resolutions to client

  • Works to develop responsible, trained staff by assisting in performance evaluations

  • Prepares invoices to clients, communicates details of fees to clients, and assists in collection of overdue accounts

  • Possesses a complete knowledge of the Firm's philosophy

  • Maintains knowledge of general economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate

  • Assists in recruiting entry-level and experienced staff

  • Develops relationships with clients and provides high quality client service. Adding value to clients' businesses is an integral part of the job requirements. Leads cross-selling opportunities and refers those opportunities to qualified professionals

  • Engages in proper delegation and management of workload and demonstrates ability to properly delegate and manage workload

  • Participates in Full Potential Program to improve managerial, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Assists in marketing the Firm

Other Responsibilities:



  • Works to develop trained staff by assisting in recruiting, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor in Full Potential Skills classes

  • Participates in Firm's practice development efforts including expanding services to clients

  • Prepares other reports and projects as requested from time to time by partners

  • Understands the Firm's business on a day-to-day basis: billings and collections, proper utilization of staff, Firm policies and procedures, etc.

  • Engages with community and professional associations related to his/her field

  • Participates in Full Potential Development Program and serves as new hire buddy

  • Assumes Individual responsibility to learn all new technology introduced by the Firm as appropriate for service/practice area

  • Such other duties as may be assigned
