Pediatrician - Kearney, Neb. Location
Children's Hospital & Medical Center, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting a Pediatrician for our Kearney, Neb. location. Providers are offered a rural healthcare experience by getting to know their patients and families outside of the clinic within the community. They also have the opportunity to address all needs from their patients by seeing them during routine health care checks and same day sick visits. Additionally, for those interested, there are academic opportunities through UNMC.

Children's Physicians started July 1, 2018. Currently there are six full time and two casual pediatricians. They are the only pediatricians located in Kearney, and they practice both outpatient general pediatrics as well as inpatient neonatal care, newborn and pediatric care. This group has worked very closely for several years and has created a robust team of pediatricians and support staff. As the only pediatricians within the community, they take a lot of pride providing exceptional care to everyone. The group, now serving under Children's Physicians, has even greater access to Children's Specialty Clinics allowing them to be the hub for Children's. This attracts more families from rural western Nebraska and parts of northern Kansas to Children's Physicians Kearney.

Kearney, the county seat of Buffalo County, is among the most dynamic micropolitan cities in the Midwest, and it affords amenities usually found only in much larger communities. Sister communities in the county include Amherst, Elm Creek, Gibbon, Miller, Pleasanton, Ravenna, Riverdale and Shelton. The communities of Buffalo County feature a growing, diversified economy yet our communities are a livable example of "Main Street America," blending the best of large and small towns. Kearney is a safe and secure, yet progressive community. Recently, a national trade journal rated Kearney a "Dream Town" and another designated its public school district a "Gold Medal School District", among the best in the country.

With close to a 30,000 population, Kearney and Buffalo County are growing at a rate of 1.2% to 1.5% annually, and it lies at the center (60 mile radius) of a pool of 218,000 potential employees or customers right on Interstate 80. Businesses thrive in Buffalo County because of its workforce and array of supporting services. Families enjoy Kearney and the other communities because of its livability. Kearney is also home to the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Tri-City Storm Hockey, who had five players drafted into the NHL last year. With over 30 local eateries, 10 city parks, six golf courses and a local kids museum, there are cultural, educational and entertainment choices that enrich life.
