Nemours is looking for a qualified Audiologist for our new outpatient location in Milford, DE opening in late 2020! Staff members will be part of our larger pediatric network that includes several locations in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Clinical support and education will be available.   Come join our team!

The Audiologist (30 hours per week, full time benefits) provides discipline specific patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the discipline specific scope of practice and the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures.  Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults;


• Able to provide audiologic services in accordance with discipline specific scope of practice to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.


• Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3 and Joint Commission standards. 


• Attends meetings related to patient diagnostic evaluation , treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member as appropriate.


• Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend and dispense durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and etc.


• Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to department.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree is the entry-level degree to obtain a new license to practice Audiology. 


• AuD preferred.


• Individuals with a Master's Degree will be considered if existing DE license is held (must be eligible for DE Audiology License even if position is to provide coverage in another state)


• Delaware State license (permanent or temporary; as appropriate for location(s) to practice Audiology as appropriate.  All staff must maintain active DE licensure regardless of assignment, program or location, other state licenses may be required for coverage.


• BLS certification Basic Life Support (within 6 months of date of hire) and must be maintained for duration of employment.


• Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, AAA, ABA certification) preferred


• Cochlear implant or auditory processing experience preferred.


• A minimum of 2 years pediatric experience required.
