Your Mission

As an Expert DevOps Engineer you will join the Engineering group of Sledgehammer Games . This role will directly support the overall Sledgehammer team by deploying, designing and administering our game build and testing environments. The candidate will also work with Activision Central Studios pipeline and datacenter deployments.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a comprehensive understanding of game development and game studio infrastructure. You must possess a unique blend of project management and business savvy; a passion for exceptional execution within a dynamic environment and the flexibility and focus to achieve results.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:


  • Push forward and manageinitiatives to solve major pain points feltbythe studioduring this phase of distributed development


  • Review current state of each studiolocationand contribute awareness of possible improvements, best practices,etcwithIT and Engineering


  • Robust upkeep of failsafe measures fordistributedstudio development


  • Alert systems and monitoring across studiolocations


Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:


  • Technical innovator/IT/Game Tech/ Engineering


  • Impeccable communication and relationship skills necessary to work with IT and Engineering leadership across Sledgehammer, Central, and partner studios


  • Robust understanding of Perforce architecture, best practices


  • Experience with DSC systems (puppet, ansible, salt, etc )



  • Linux and windows admin skills


  • Good scripting language skills


  • Database expertise (MySQL, etc.)


  • Experience building and deploying work environments in the cloud, AWS and others


Extra Points:


  • Successfully managed complex, cross functional projects


  • Experience with various virtualization technologies, manage and tune large VM farms


  • Experience installing/admin open source platforms and technologies


  • Experience installing/admin servers and storage solutions


  • Technical innovator in IT as it relates to Game Tech and Engineering in support of video game developers


  • Experience managing the interface between technology groups utilizing differing project management methodologies
