OBJECTIVES:

  • Lead strategic data governance and innovation initiatives and recommend data solutions and processes for the US Business Unit (USBU). Partner with the business and commercial operations to identify data, processes, digital tools, and governance can be leveraged to support cross-functional business needs. Provide thought leadership and technical expertise on evaluating data analytics, tools, and platforms that can be leveraged across the USBU.

ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Lead multiple cross-functional working groups with key data stakeholders across the USBU’s therapeutic areas to align on and deliver data acquisition frameworks, SOPs, business glossaries and KPI metrics of analytic capabilities.

  • Build and own engagement models and charters for Commercial Data Management & Strategy and the USBU to ensure reproducible innovative data collaborations that leverage the right stakeholders to address strategic initiatives, such as data acquisition centralization and frameworks for maximizing data purchases and analytics to support product launches.

  • Perform a strategic assessment to develop an enterprise-wide understanding and common definition of the patient journey, and evaluate current state and gaps in data and metrics associated with the patient journey at Takeda. Work with the leadership team to prioritize solutions and create a roadmap for addressing these gaps.

  • Identify potential beneficial technologies within Takeda, and translate USBU stakeholder needs into requirements for emerging digital technology teams to create feasible pilots of new digital solutions. Create roadmaps to expand successful pilots, including transferring governance processes to manage these new solutions and ensure that they are sustainable.

  • Develop, improve, and socialize processes that ensure data is well documented, consistently tagged, and classified in logical structures to facilitate analysis and reduce the processing needed to arrive at the needed insights (e.g., SOPs, Business Glossaries).

  • Oversee and perform data management activities, such as 3rd party agreements and Payor Spine maintenance, in support of Takeda counterparts to ensure adherence to governance standards.

  • Lead cross-functional communication across data stakeholders to support all key data strategy & governance initiatives.

  • Enable the execution and sustainability of innovative digital and data driven solutions in the USBU to improve patient and customer experiences.

Technical/Functional Expertise


  • Understanding of data science, analytics, and insights and how it can be used to answer business questions.

  • Strong process improvement skills to support development and implementation of standards, such as SOPs, charters, and business glossaries.

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to transform business needs into functional, actionable requirements with the appropriate level of detail for the execution team.

  • Excellent data background with knowledge of the pharmaceutical data landscape to understand business data needs and develop innovative solutions.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or analytical field such as statistics, operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, economics, math, etc.

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in data management and governance and/or Commercial Sales Operations/Analytics experience with demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and explain systems and approaches for customer data and product data to enable business decisions.

  • Experience as acting as a liaison with IT on data projects.

  • Must have strong knowledge of relevant internal and external data sources within the pharmaceutical data ecosystem.

  • Experience in setting up an ecosystem of partners bringing together various sources of data.

  • Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Must have experience in work flow/information processing.

  • Must possess experience managing multiple, complex projects involving cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data quality business processes, solutions, methodologies.

  • Experience with 3rd party pharmaceutical data like IQVIA (IMS Health) Sales Data (DDD, Xponent, NSP, NPA), Affiliation (HCOS), APLD (Medical Claims), and Specialty pharmacy data.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • None required  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 


  • Able to sit for long periods at a desk.

  • Able to read and review large quantities of printed material or online material.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel to internal and external meetings including overnights and weekends will be required, estimated up to 15% travel.
