Position Description:
The Injection Team Leader is responsible to act in accordance with the policies set forth in the current procedures manual. They are responsible for and have the authority to direct, train, and motivate Shift Team Members in a safe and efficient manner ensuring production of a quality product.
Responsibilities:
Ability to adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy.
Control costs in the areas of quality, efficiency, downtime and scrap.
Accountable for the development of a Lean Culture. Ensure all 6S tasks and tools are being utilized and adhered to.
Focus on Continuous Improvement in the areas of maintenance, safety, quality reliability, scrap and productivity.
Work in harmonious manner with Team Leaders and Area Leaders in all departments on all shifts to achieve the established objectives and build our teams.
Works in a safe and efficient manner at all times, monitors team members for safe practices and mentors best methods.
Follows and enforces company and local work rules, safety rules, GMP, policies, procedures and work instructions.
Direct and Monitor the work flow and daily work functions of the cell team in conjunction with the Team Leader (includes scheduled down time and over time hours).
Actively responsible for participating in individual team members’ development, engagement and necessary training requirements moving them along in their career path. To include technical criteria & training path completion and mentoring.
Effectively and efficiently schedule and monitor team members’ breaks and lunch periods.
Actively facilitate and participate in team meetings.
Write, conduct and maintain performance evaluation process.
Input and administer disciplinary actions.
Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported and assist in follow up analysis.
Maintain focus and are accountable for internal and external measures.
Ensure production schedule is on track. Monitoring reliability, scrap, customers needs and down time.
Ensure quality product through proper testing, data entry into SAP and observation.
Identify, prioritize & report problems with recommended solutions to be addressed during scheduled down times.
Reports the effectiveness and performance of the production activities to the department manager.
Monitors changeovers, productivity and scrap.
Assists and guides in machinery and quality problems in the production area.
Initial associate relations representative.
Maintain the department’s daily production and team reports. Including updating the production board.
Verify that maintenance tasks are completed and parts used are documented in SAP.
Inspects line set ups and continuously monitors operations and supplies.
Acts as back up production technician as necessary.
Initiate action for food safety issues.
Miscellaneous related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree
5 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience and/or Four year degree in a related technical field such as Plastics Technology, Packaging, or Engineering Relevant mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge Strong Leadership skills (as demonstrated through the hiring process)
Team oriented
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills (as demonstrated through the hiring process)
Self-motivated and flexible on job assignments
Proficient in computers and programs.
Able to multitask in a faced-paced environment
Possess a strong customer focus
High level of personal integrity
Possess strong safety focus
Must have a more than acceptable performance evaluation score (if internal candidate)
Internal training requirements for current position (if internal candidate) must be completed and up to date
Must be out of orientation period and in good company standing (if internal candidate, no final warnings)
Be able to demonstrate SAP knowledge and transaction competence
Possess technical skills and a willingness to continuously learn through training
Strong mathematical and analytical skills (as demonstrated by testing, transcripts, references and/or experience)
Lifting Requirements: 25 – 75 lbs.
