The Global Marketing team brings to life the unique promise of Hilton's portfolio of brands by defining, creating, and delivering exceptional multi-channel marketing campaigns designed to drive business results.

What will you be doing?

We are building a category-leading Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practice. The Director is responsible for the overall SEO strategy for Hilton's global website and will work with an internal team and an agency partner in setting Hilton's future vision for SEO. You will be responsible for setting the vision and leading a team forward and working cross-department to evangelize SEO with internal and external partners.

Organic search traffic is a critical revenue component for Hilton, as such this is an incredible opportunity to impact change on a global web property, with a portfolio of globally recognized brands. The Director will have a builder mentality, with experience handling a large team through change and developing a leading SEO practice for a complex multi-brand global website. In addition, this candidate will possess a strong understanding of web development, content creation/marketing, UX, and associated technologies and scripting languages. Intrigued? Read on!

More specifically, you will:


  • Lead the overall strategy, vision, and voice for Hilton SEO.
  • Own all aspects of the SEO practice including, budget, personnel, agencies/vendor relations, hiring, reporting performance, and technology investments.
  • Develop and implement the organic search strategy for multiple brands to achieve customer acquisition goals.
  • Expand the Local Listings program that distributes our hotel properties' information to online directories in order to drive revenue, grow brand awareness, and improve the customer experience.
  • Handle technical SEO to identify ongoing risks and opportunities that can impact SERP rankings as well as organic traffic.
  • Build enterprise knowledge and evangelize SEO standard methodologies to partners throughout the organization.
  • Monitor industry activities, competitive trends - both inside and outside of the travel industry - and develop competitive benchmarking analyses.
  • Review monthly program performance reports, analyze and communicate results to appropriate partners; make recommendations for key areas of improvement.
  • Work with content marketing team to provide SEO recommendations on top opportunities to deliver content that satisfies customer demand.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of Search Engine Optimization
  • Five (5) years spent leading a team
  • Proficiency in analyzing SERP, media, and site performance data (i.e. financial, statistical and/or performance), with the ability to translate data into action
  • Experience managing external agencies or in lieu of direct management, an agency background will be considered
  • Up to 10% travel

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Experience with social media, PPC, email, marketing automation and other digital marketing fields
  • International SEO experience
  • Solid experience working with a wide set of SEO-related tools and web analytics platforms such as Adobe and Google Analytics
  • Experience with revenue driven, global eCommerce environment
  • Working knowledge of web programming languages
