The Network Operations Support Senior Manager (Infrastructure Engineer Manager) leads the team responsible for the continuous operation and performance of Cigna's enterprise network and voice infrastructure. This position will provide operational leadership and vendor oversight on incident resolution, change management, problem determination and problem resolution for the network and voice infrastructure within the Enterprise. This position will ensure high quality service delivery through daily management of team vendor performance, responsiveness to problems, crisis management, and adherence to service levels and network improvement initiatives. This position will be responsible for joint planning and vendor oversight for network-related change activity.

Responsibilities


  • Provide an escalation point for tier I support for network and voice systems and infrastructure


  • Provide escalation point & leadership in network and voice problem determination efforts


  • Provide planning and vendor oversight for network change activity


  • Coordinate problem resolution and ensure process improvement within the department


  • Operate and improve services in accordance with business needs, priorities, and SLAs


  • Manage recruitment, training, and development of team


  • Drive network security efficiency & standards improvement


  • Develop improved processes to ensure network reliability and availability


  • Provide periodic performance reports for review with management providing input on improvements, training needs, and quality initiatives


  • Oversee and ensure the effective communication of IT issues and updates


  • Coordinate & assign activities among team members


  • Report key performance metrics to management


Qualifications


  • High School diploma; Associates degree preferred.


  • 7 year’s experience in network infrastructure.


  • Prior experience with a large enterprise network, preferably in the healthcare sector


  • Experience with routers, switches, F5, and load balancers platforms.


  • Experience with the configuration and support of the following technologies: Cisco routers and switches – knowledge with ASA, Juniper SRX, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.


  • Experience with configuration and support of client-to-site VPN tunnels. Experience with Cisco AnyConnect client supports a plus.


  • Knowledge of DDoS prevention, IPS, and IDS technologies a plus.


  • Experience with Aruba wireless remote access points and controllers a plus.


  • Experience with routing protocols OSPF, BGP, & EIGRP.


  • Experience in configuration & operation of network management instruments such as SNMP, SYSLOG, NetFlow, etc.


  • Experience with packet capture tools such as Wireshark, and tcpdump


  • Experience with Cisco voice technologies a plus.


  • Experience with telco vendors.


  • Well versed in crisis management and root cause analysis techniques.


  • Previous experience in vendor management preferred.


  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.


  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.


  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.


  • Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.


  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.


  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.


  • Highly self-motivated and directed.


  • Strong organizational skills.


  • Keen attention to detail.


  • Strong customer service orientation.
