We are currently looking for an Congregate Housing Service Supervisor within Catholic Charities Senior Communities.


Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm


The Congregate Housing Service Supervisor manages the program census, ongoing financial performance and the daily operation of the Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP), including daily meal services, weekly personal care services, housekeeping, laundry and on-going service management to support aging in place in the affordable apartment setting. Assesses applicants, prepares service plans, monitors participant progress, serves as a liaison with participants, families, and advocates, supervises the provision of direct services by program staff, ensuring that participant needs are addressed and manages all aspects of accounts receivable, expense management and vendor relationships.


Our Senior Communities program develops and operates affordable, supportive communities for older adults with a resolve to nurture a spirit of purpose, wellness, and harmony among both our residents and colleagues. The Congregate Housing Service Supervisor manages the program census, ongoing financial performance, and daily operation of the Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP). This may include daily meal services, weekly personal care services, housekeeping, laundry, and on-going service management to support aging in place.


Responsibilities:



  • Manages the daily operations of the Congregate Housing Services Program, including: participant assessment and selection, service planning, program documentation, staffing and scheduling.

  • Determines personnel needs, employs, orients, supervises and evaluates staff, and builds relationships between employees and residents to ensure that individual resident preferences and choices are respected.

  • Ensures adequate staff schedules and back-up staffing support is available to meet participant needs every day, weekdays, weekends and holidays.

  • Attains and/or maintains the targeted program census through internal recruitment of current residents and new move-in’s through the leasing wait list.

  • Assures the quality of services and safeguards the health and well-being of CHS participants through oversight of daily meals, weekly services and the completion of semi-annual service plans and bi-annual participant assessments.

  • On an on-going basis, assesses the appropriateness of CHS services in meeting the needs of participants, supporting the coordination of additional services if necessary and available, and transfer to another setting or service as appropriate.

  • Works cooperatively with local and state government agencies to assure compliance with the standards and guidelines governing the program, including COMAR regulations for CHSP and local health department standards related to food services.

  • Complies with Maryland Department of Aging data requirements through on-going data entry in the AIM information system, including every participant’s demographic, financial and functional assessment data, updated as changes occur, with quarterly reporting to MDoA.

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable including collection of monthly program fees/cash receipts and monthly invoicing of participants or their representative and processing of invoices and other program expenses.

  • Compile and prepare regular and ad hoc reports.

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets and addressing program problems/concerns.

  • Provide and coordinate staff development and in-service training as needed.

  • Plans and conducts staff meetings and training sessions for assigned staff and attends and participates in staff meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. keeping abreast of current changes in the field of aging.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

This position will require the following:



  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work (or related field) preferably with coursework in gerontology

  • 2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Must work effectively with a culturally diverse aging population

  • A valid driver's license with no more than 3 points
