Assists in the development of logical data base designs, data models and relational data base definitions across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server). Assists in the identification and analysis of information flows and interfaces between corporate business processes and in transforming the information into logical data bases and relational data base definitions. Participates in the analysis and resolution of issues related to information flow and content with clients and IT management and staff. Assists in data modeling studies and the development of detailed data models through consultation with clients and staff. Utilizing independent judgment and discretion, monitors data architecture standards and conventions and provides data model and entity relationship diagrams as required. Participates in the development of a corporate data architecture. Develops technical expertise in data modeling directions, methodologies, techniques and tools to ensure development of logical and relational database designs which meet the needs of the corporation and client areas. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least two, typically five or more years’ experience in data modeling, data entity analysis and logical and relational data base design, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Requires a working knowledge of data analysis/data base design technologies and tools, excellent analytical ability, consultative, and communication skills, strong judgment and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff. Must understand the agile systems development processes and an understanding of applying data modeling to business processes
