Provides professional nursing care to the Medical Surgical, Obstetrics, and Emergency room departments. Assists physicians during treatments and examinations of patients. Administers medications per physician order. Performs other therapeutic measures either per physician order or as an independent nursing function. Observes, records and reports as appropriate the symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Provides patient education on illness management, disease prevention, and health promotion. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, able to perform general nursing duties in all nursing departments with adequate supervision. Must be able to respond to on-call situations and is expected to be available for on-call schedules. If requested, must be willing to take low census.
