Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the supervision of the director of the Memphis Office of Youth Service to oversee MOYS Institute (350 students form Mploy Group 4) and the Back on Track Program (Hope Academy/ Juvenile Detention students). Recruits, interviews, hires facilitators for the MOYS Institute. Develops and outline curriculum for the facilitators to follow. Coordinates field trips and conference with professional guest speakers. Ensures that the facilitators and vendors are following program regulations by scheduling regular meetings and institute site visits. Works closely with the Principal of Hope Academy and the Director of Job Corps to ensure a smooth transition of the students leaving the Academy. Communicates weekly with mentors and visit sites. Tracks students progress after completing the Back on Track Program. Prepares graduations, and certification processes.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Serve as a liaison between Hope Academy, Juvenile Detention, and Job Corps.
2. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing as well multitask and work in great detail. Requires the use of office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines and telephones. Work involves occasional independent travel from the office to Hope Academy and Job Corps. Work may involve traveling to an annual conference.


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed primarily in an office/ training environment. Work is usually done during the day with occasional evenings, conference calls and related programs events.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Sociology, Public Administration, Communications or a related field and five (5) years of professional experience or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Work experience and knowledge in training and development and curriculum writing and strongly preferred. Must be able to fully utilize the standard Microsoft Office software.
