Allegheny Science &Technology (AST) is looking for a Senior Program Area Lead to support one of our Department of Energy (DOE) customers to serve as the lead on technical and contractual matters.

Position Experience/Requirements:

• Must have a a Ph.D. and 20 years of related work experience.


• Must have 15+ years supporting the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL).


• Must have extensive contract management experience in both project management and supervisory levels for multimillion-dollar contracts in support of the DOE-FE-NETL mission.


• Proven ability to integrate a wide variety of technical specialties while motivating a diverse, professional, geographically dispersed work- force to function as a true ‘team' with fit-for-purpose mentoring and coaching.


• Skilled communicator targeting complex issues for a variety of engineering, science and technical development task areas.


• Thrives in deadline-driven environments


• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.


• Extensive experience in planning, managing and performing technical, business, benefit and comprehensive analyses of energy, engineering, environmental, and biological/chemical technologies for recommending solutions (e.g. further research, development, demonstration and deployment.)


• Expertise conducting environmental and energy impact analyses for use in recommending technology applications/solutions for development and commercialization for industry and federal clients.


• Active knowledge in the areas of carbon utilization, rare earth elements, water management and crosscutting research
