Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Drives the creation, development and delivery of new hardware and SATCOM products supporting the defense and commercial market space. Performs ongoing market research, reviews customer satisfaction, works with development teams and measures product success. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control. Maps customer product journey, use cases, business cases and owns overall product roadmaps. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

JOB DETAILS:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for planning and executing product lines throughout their lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision. Works closely with management, development teams, engineering, sales, marketing, and other support groups to ensure revenue, profit and meets customer expectations and goals.

* Develops a product roadmap, integrates key decision making events into development schedules and synchronizes releases with customer needs and programs.

* Work closely with upper management to develop long term product development and sales strategies for the company.

* Understand, articulate, and capture customer market problems and then translate them into software and hardware requirements for product development teams.

* Provide sales and business development teams with marketing strategy and guidance for selling, promoting products, and meeting customer needs.

* Coordinate with teams of support and sales personnel to meet customer and contractual requirements.

* Monitor and analyze market trends and competitors to ensure product lines stay competitive and fulfill customer needs.

* Understand all aspects of the customer s business needs and apply them to our company s product lines.

* Key contributor in coordinating quote and proposal activities In coordination with Product Sales and BD personnel to meet customer needs.

* Generate business cases for product extensions and product enhancements to meet market demands and new sales potentials.

* Develops investment plans for each product to be up to date and meet all market-driven and customer requirements.

* Works with third parties to develop business strategies as well as teaming and license agreements.

* Works closely with business development, corporate communications, and local marketing teams to ensure that advertising materials are current and available.

* Meets customer requirements and expectations by providing superior customer communication and coordination for past, current and future product offerings.

* Works to make sure all contractual requirements are satisfied, including products, data, and services.

* Serves as an expert concerning the customer and competitive environment.

* Responsible for developing consumer and channel communication strategies.

* Identify major milestones for project execution (from requirements review to product release) and manage schedule execution through product release.

* Schedule, plan and execute design reviews in collaboration with engineering and project leadership.

* Make Go/No Go decisions on advancement through engineering design & test review gates and ultimate product release.

* Identify and Manage the execution in coordination with engineering of certification of products as needed to include but not limited to FCC, ARSTRAT, and satellite provider type certifications from start to certification completion. Ensuring engineering team submits needed data, creates reports, and submits the paperwork per certification timeline.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

* Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in engineering, product line, business or program leadership fields; plus a minimum of eight years experience working as a product manager in a hardware and software environment supporting SATCOM terminal or modem products.

* Strong background in the SATCOM industry focusing on RF, Software Defined systems, and Modem technology.

* Experience with one or more of the following DISA DODIN, ARSTRAT and FCC certification required.

* Must have experience in launching new products into the defense and commercial market while evolving these into viable company revenue streams.

* Excellent teamwork skills.

* Able to make decisions independently and manage large teams.

* Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

* Demonstrated experience in creating product specifications, gathering customer requirements, performing competitive analysis, and market research.

* Programmatic experience with defense customers desirable.

* Background working in the military exercise operations, acquisitions, and business development arena are preferred.

* Experience with various tools such as JIRA, Salesforce, Productboard and AhA! desired.
