Summary: The Sanitation Technician is responsible of cleaning and sanitizing the egg processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. The Sanitation Technician will report to the Processing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
-Responsible for dissembling, cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling the processing equipment on a daily basis
-Requires working with chemicals, high pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of a hose and simple mechanical tools
-Maintain training on the correct use of equipment, chemicals and their MSDSs
-Review the sanitation chemicals with the supervisor including use, mixing, appropriateness, etc.
-Responsible for record keeping/paperwork
-Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
-Maintain equipment and keep in good repair

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable
-Training for egg specific equipment would be provided
-Familiarity with GMP's or equivalent practices is highly desirable

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Must have a positive team oriented attitude
-Ability to work independently
-Ability and willingness to learn several associated jobs
-Speak English and Spanish is highly desirable
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Basic math skills
-Knowledge of sanitation methods, chemical handling and use
-Knowledge of process control systems and food safety principles

Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
-Must be able to lift 40 lbs. routinely
-Good hand-eye coordination

Working Conditions:
Works indoors in controlled environment. The environment can be very wet, warm in summer and loud. Chemical interaction may occur during cleaning. Employees are required to be cleanly dressed, wear hairnets, gloves, earplugs, necessary safety equipment, and boots. All of these materials are provided for by the company.
Start times vary with the shift lasting 8-14 hours per day. Requires the ability to work overtime as necessary.
