Job Summary: Reporting to the Detail Shop Manager or designated manager, the Quality Process Lead assures the quality of the detail process “First Time Right” is applied by detailers. The QPL lead also creates individual assignments for detailers, communicates production goals, and leads the designated lane. Is also the first point of contact for the QPL’s.
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provide excellent Leadership:
Is responsible for a designated lane in the detail department.
Identify the strengths of detailers to effectively create their assignments within the detail process.
Inspect the quality of work done by each detailer to meet the production goals.
Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment and friendly disposition by greeting others.
Ensure proper techniques and procedures are being implemented by detailers.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Report all incidents to management immediately.
Assist the designated manager or supervisor in developing, coordinating and training all employees within the department in accordance with company policy and guidelines.
Monitor training conducted to ensure adherence to company standards and procedures
Assist the designated manager or supervisor in monitoring and controlling conditions of all facilities, vehicles, property and equipment under Detail Shop control for proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety
Perform detail services:
Photograph and stage vehicles to ensure focused and clear pictures per detail standards.
Document the stock number, vin number, model, make, of each vehicle as well as the customer. Then log information into the V-Trace program.
Track the detailers in the assigned lane and document their start time and end time, as well as lost time on each unit.
Responsible for the photo booth and its components.
Return customer’s vehicles in clean condition.
Other:
Properly complete all work documentation and entering it in the computer program.
Advise the designated Manager of all equipment breakdowns and required maintenance immediately.
Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Manager.

QPL Lead Responsibilities and Skills
Clerical- Ability to use a computer and calculator. Timekeeping and documenting times for detailers. Inventory of the vehicles is logged on V-trace.
Analytical- Ability to perform basic math.
Fuel- Ensure vehicles have fuel, if needed then fuel vehicles.
Photography- Ability to use a camera, and take pictures to company standards.
Communication- Interpersonal skills to communicate with employees and members of management. Bilingual-preferred.
Drive- Ensure employee are following company policy and procedures when operating vehicles.
Mechanical- Ability to jump start vehicles that won’t start. If they can’t, then be ready to push the vehicles.
Tools- Ability to use cleaning tools such as: vacuums, pressure washer, drill, and cleaning chemicals.
QPL Lead Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1 to 2 years of auto detailing experience preferred.
Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
Effective employee relations, communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies in all areas.
Computer skills.

The physical activity requirements of the position are from Medium to Heavy Physical Work
Constant – standing, walking, climbing, watching, touching and fingering, listening
Potential – running, jumping, yelling, or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations
This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards, such as electrical current , moving mechanical parts, exposure to hot equipment and cleaning and pesticide chemicals; and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
