Job Description:

The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks to fill a Research Assistant Professor position in experimental materials physics. Candidates with expertise in materials synthesis and characterization, especially in superconductivity, magnetism, and transport measurements, and in high-pressure techniques for both resistivity and magnetic studies using diamond anvil cells are encouraged to apply.

The candidate is expected to work with the Principle Investigator of the High Pressure and Low
Temperature (HPLT) Research Lab on proposal writing to seek federal funding on the above and related subjects. The candidate must work with the team to publish peer-reviewed journal articles and help manage and run the HPLT lab on a daily basis. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to, and potential for excellence in, mentoring graduate students in research. Effective communication skills are required.

    Ph.D. degree in Physics or a related materials science field with 3 years of experience.
