This position leads a Facilities shared services organization supporting medical device R&D and manufacturing facilities principally in Santa Rosa, CA.
Functions reporting into this position include Facilities Maintenance, Equipment Maintenance, Facilities Engineering, Security, Space Planning, Shipping & Receiving, Calibration, Receiving Inspection as well as soft services such as food services, print, mail, etc..
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Annual budget responsibility of approximately $17M, and annual capital plans of up to $5M or more.
Engage with a variety of local leaders and stakeholders to ensure facilities & services continue to meet or exceed the needs of the internal organization.
Communicates and conducts briefings with senior or executive leadership regarding ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.
Influences across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on operational issues and internal divergent objectives.
Continually monitor key performance indicators across the organization to drive operational excellence.
Develop and execute short and long-term capital plans to ensure facilities and infrastructure remains functional, reliable, resilient, and energy-efficient.
Ensure all services provided are adherent to governmental regulations, FDA regulations, and internal quality system requirements.
Partner with key suppliers and contractors to ensure adequate service levels at a fair price.
Inspire the organization to continually improve and simplify service offerings through Lean/Six Sigma & DMAIC principles.
Collaborate across geographies and business units to identify and implement best practices that can benefit and engage the local organization and serve as an example across the enterprise.
Collaborate with finance partners to provide accurate financial forecasts and annual updates to square footage-based financial allocations across the local businesses.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Contract management, security, reception, janitorial, grounds maintenance, mail/shipping, food services, pest control, shipping and receiving
Building systems, HVAC, electrical, structural, and building envelope
Experience working in regulated environments
Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and building schematics
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Requires a Bachelors degree required and a minimum of 7 years of facilities operations experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
Nice to Have
Experience supporting FDA regulated medical device (ISO13485) or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Lean / Six Sigma training and experience (green belt)
Experience supporting manufacturing and research and development organizations.
Emergency response and crisis management experience.
Professional Engineer certification
Masters of Business Administration or other relevant disciplines
Experience with predictive /reliability-centered programs
Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
Experience with financial planning/management/forecasting
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
