Job Title: Commercial Automation Install Mechanic

Department: Automation

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience

Wage: Commensurate with skills

Primary Duties
o Installation of control components, wiring and accessories per company standards
o Installation of factory provided unit accessories

Administrative Duties
o Constant communication with installation supervisor with job status and needs
o Assist in purchasing of necessary installation materials
o Attend job turnover meeting when required
o Direct supporting technicians when necessary
o Complete work order / change order forms when necessary
o Coordinate with other trades
o Label control components per company standards
o Creation of as-built drawings
o Maintain company vehicle
o Maintain company supplied tools

Short Term Goals
o Increase technical knowledge of control devices
o Increase understanding of control submittals and wiring diagrams
o Increase communication to team members including creation of daily log on a daily basis
o Limit starts from the office

Required Skills
o Understanding of local codes
o Through understanding of installation tools, techniques and devices
o Ability to install electrical conduit
o Ability to install copper piping to support instrumentation
o Through understanding of control submittal packages
o Thorough understanding of plans, specifications and submittals
o Through understanding of product submittals and wiring diagrams
o Command of the technical language involved with automation and mechanical systems
o Good organizational and planning skills
o Good verbal and written communication skills
o Understanding of the automation process
o Good problem-solving skills (striving for win-win)
o Understands and executes 'completion'
o Fosters relationships with customers and team members

Physical Requirements and Job Environment:

- All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 50 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc.

- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel when needed

- Comfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.

- All Automation Install Mechanics typically load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place at the job site. This may involve carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain.

- All candidates will be familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer type drills and similar tools.

- Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor utility plants.
