Posted in Other 30+ days ago.

Type: Full Time
Location: Sacramento, California

Job Description:

Department Description

The South 1 Unit is in operation 24 hours a day and consists of 17 beds. The purpose of the South 1 Unit is to decompress the Emergency Department (ED) during times of high census in the ED and in the inpatient units. The South 1 Unit provides care to medically stable adult medical/surgical admitted patients.

South 1 Annex Closure & East 3 Opening are part to the Hospital Expansion and Closure plan. South 1 Annex provides care to Adult Patients with medical-surgical needs. South 1 is scheduled to close prior to July 2021. East 3 is scheduled to open in mid-December, this unit will care for medical surgical and tele patients.

In order to have both units open, we are hiring staff to orient to our hospital, so we are prepared in December. To support the expansion needs you may, in your role, temporarily be moved into the float pool until unit operations support the need for the hired position. In the float pool you will float to other medical-surgical/tele units or locations where medical-surgical/tele patients board daily as assigned by bed control.

When South 1 closes, staff in that unit, will be moved to East 3. If at that time we do not have enough open positions in East 3 for staff that are hired for the expansion (ie staff hired after September 10/2020) you will be moved into the float pool. You also have the option of applying for other positions that you may be interested in. In the float pool you will float to other medical / surgical / tele units or locations where medical, surgical and tele patients board daily as assigned by bed control.

Any staff hired for North 1, South 1 and East 3 after September 10 /2020 may need to be moved to the float pool positions if positions are not available in East 3. In the float pool you will float to other medical, surgical and tele units or locations where medical / surgical / tele patients board daily as assigned by bed control. Current North 1 staff will move to East 3 when it is available for occupancy.
