Building Services Maintenance Technician at JLL

Job Description:

Summary:
The Maintenance Technician provides electrical and mechanical support for the assigned buildings. This role has wide ranging responsibilities, including low/medium voltage power, HVAC system and controls, mechanical system troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency response, general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing system, and vendor management. Primary responsibilities will include electrical/mechanical support for power systems, lighting systems and controls, and other facility subsystems and support tools.

This position requires the employee to be on-call for after-hours emergencies.
Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
Follows all safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sites
Comply with all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
General Interior Maintenance: hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems, etc.
Complete assigned system generated work requests for services daily and within established time frame.
Basic HVAC knowledge maintain, troubleshoot, and repair to HVAC units in corporate settings and IT server rooms.
Special Tasks: painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, etc., and general maintenance.
Maintain all lights in working order (i.e. replacing light bulbs or repairing lighting) in office, electrical/mechanical rooms and lab environments
Assist operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
Perform plumbing repairs.
Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested
Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts; report on as-found conditions.
Maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
Place work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as necessary to correct issues and improve overall event activities.
Recognize danger and safety hazards; propose methods to eliminate them.

Knowledge and Personal skills:
Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written.
Provides excellent customer service by utilizing professional and effective language, communication and timely follow-through
Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed Policies & Procedures.
Knowledge and proficiency with basic computer operating system and programs (Outlook, Excel, Word and Chrome).

Experience, Education, and Training:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent
One-year previous experience or completion of a vocational school program
Special knowledge and skills - Some skills in electrical, plumbing and mechanical aptitude a must.

Physical Requirements:
Experience prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and stretching
Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs repeatedly
Desire to work in a fast paced, office, Labs, Data Center Environment
Building inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access.
Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation
