Summary of Job Function:

* This position is responsible for prepping in an approved order, scanning and performing quality review of the scanned medical records into the 3M EMR system

* Prepares record for scanning in accordance with pre-established standards

* Ensures the accuracy of patient name and account numbers, making any corrections as indicated to ensure accurate scanning.

* Conducts quality review of scanned records

* Achieves and sustains a quality level of: 96% 97% 98% 99% 100%

* Removes all forms not to be scanned and files those reports in back of paper record.

* Generates cover sheets for all required documents.

* Conducts review of all documents to ensure forms that have failed the import are assigned to the correct document.

* Meets and sustains established productivity standards.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* The EMR Technician candidate must have 2 years of HIM experience preferably in more than one section of the clerical areas. Prepping and scanning experience preferred.

* High School Diploma or GED equivelent required.
