This team member will be responsible for the accounting operations of the organization, to include the production of financial reports and information. Establish, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
Key Accountabilities
Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
Manage the accounting team to include recruiting, training, disciplining, planning, monitoring and appraising their performance
Provide the status of the organization's financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting accurate and timely financial data and reports
Provide all aspects of financial accounting, including preparation of monthly financial statements
Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements and filing financial reports
Prepare and review monthly journal entries
Ensure the timely processing of accounts payable
Ensure the timely invoicing and the prompt collection of accounts receivable
Ensure the timely processing and approval of payroll
Manage the coding of monthly deposits
Manage daily bank activity and ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are complete
Maintain the chart of accounts
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures
Write and sign checks as needed
Review contracts as needed
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Review Agency financial statements for accuracy and clarity
Provide grant budgeting and monthly financial grant reporting on assigned grants
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
Manage and assist with the preparation of the annual budget for the organization
Mange and assist with the month-end and year-end close process and annual audits
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Excellent knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare accounting, billing and reimbursement processes
CPA certification preferred
Five to seven years of hands-on accounting managerial experience
Excellent spreadsheet and database proficiency
Regular and predictable attendance required
Valid driver's license, proof of insurance and ability to drive for organization business
