Overview:

Vitech is seeking a Senior Trainer / Technical Writer for its Education Services team, based out of our New York City office. This position is an excellent fit for an enthusiastic, motivated and self-starting individual looking for a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging work environment. The role offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in all aspects of technical training and writing in conjunction with development across multiple industries.
The Senior Trainer / Technical Writer role has high internal executive and external client visibility, with tremendous career growth potential.

As a member of the Educational Services team, you’ll play an integral role in developing and delivering high quality training and technical documentation.

The successful candidate must develop extensive knowledge of Vitech’s product offerings, processes and customer goals. Must be an abstract and creative thinker, capable of learning and summarizing complex concepts and issues.

Responsibilities

• Work together with internal and external content stakeholders to perform training needs analysis; identify and define training requirements.


• Develop, design and deliver digital online and/or instructor-led training that creatively achieves the learning outcomes, driven by our product and client requirements.


• Work independently while regularly collaborating with a team of subject matter experts, project leads and other trainers/technical writers.


• Deliver a variety of instructional content appropriate to the target audience (trainers, end users, Subject Matter Experts, power users) through interactive webinars, virtual classrooms, train-the-trainer sessions, and instructor-led classroom sessions including group presentations and/or briefings


• Coordinate internal resources to prepare for training delivery; preparation of the training application environment, data-setup, dry runs


• Create reusable e-learning content using Adobe Captivate and TechSmith’s Camtasia software


• Work closely with clients to establish and maintain excellent client relations on training and documentation deliverables


• Keep up with product development - ensure courses being developed are in-line with product direction, company goals, and training team strategy.


• Attend product demonstrations and knowledge transfer sessions to stay current on product enhancements and features.


• Edit documentation produced by team members and subject matter experts to ensure quality and consistency of language and style


• Build and maintain relationships with content and product experts during the development, design, review and updating phases of instructional design.

Requirements/Skills

• Proven ability to learn new software rapidly to design and develop structured instructional training content and documentation


• Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodology with the ability to translate highly complex and technical information into dynamic instructor-led and online learning courses


• Demonstrate effective instructional training delivery; solid client-facing training experience


• Ability to make instructional training deliverables interactive, interesting and relevant


• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written and verbal communication skills; ability to be clear and concise when passing on information


• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while remaining flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances


• Highly organized with proven track record of adherence to delivery deadlines


• Attention to detail and high-quality control standards


• Self-motivated, with the ability to work in a team environment


• Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and agile environment.


• Experience with software or technology services and related technologies


• Proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships internally and client facing


• Experience collaborating with training developers, subject matter experts, project leads and others to assure training materials are effective


• Competency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required


• Competency with Adobe Captivate, TechSmith’s Camtasia, Learning Management Systems (LMS) - preferred


• 3+ years of prior, relevant training delivery, design and documentation experience


• Bachelor’s degree in a related field


• Must be willing to travel 20 - 25%
