Job Purpose

The Product Engineering Manager use his/her ability and background knowledge to guide development of manufacturing processes for new products from the specifications developed by the technical group. Product designs resulting from this department's efforts must be profitably manufactural and perform well in comparison to competitor products. The position also oversees the work of others and make sure work is done in an effective and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Providing leadership for engineers and technicians in product engineering by allocating resources, setting priorities, clearing obstacles, and following up as needed to produce results and develop teams

- Driving product engineering excellence to insure future product designs can be economically manufactured

- Know and apply current Engineering practices in light of Manufacturing and Quality Control considerations.

- Provide technical support in the area of product design and development; Manufacturing Engineering to facilitate incorporation of current manufacturing practices into new designs and improve manufacturability of existing products.

- Coordinating the debugging & qualifying of equipment.

- Supervise the development and maintenance of Gantt charts for projects.

- Conducting evaluations and providing input on subordinate's performance.

- Responsible for Engineering schedules and budgets'

- Work with other engineering team members to design production equipment and tooling.

- Direct the activities of engineering change control on production drawings.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and/or equivalent Engineering experience.

- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously as a team member.

- Must be detail-oriented.

- Ability to train and develop personnel through monitoring, measuring & improving practices.

- Must be well organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks in a controlled manner.

- Effective communication skills both oral and written

- Computer literacy including design software and Microsoft Office.

- Ability to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.

- Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
