The DIVISION DIRECTOR INFECTION PREVENTION serves a supervisor and mentor to the other infection prevention managers and facility entities under the direction of the AVP IP. The Director is responsible for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the infection prevention and control programs for System. The Director also serves as an internal consultant in regards to data collection, analysis, reporting and team facilitation in relation to improving patient outcomes related to health care associated infections and infectious diseases. The Director is also responsible for the coordination, facilitation and leadership of infection prevention and control activities related to patient and health care worker safety and quality/performance improvement initiatives.The Infection Prevention Director will serve as a project lead for infection prevention initiatives across the system and will be expected to develop skills in specialty focus areas to support the work of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of progressive experience in infection prevention and control and healthcare epidemiology in the acute care setting is required

* Master's degree required in nursing, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, public health or other health-related field is required (currently in a graduate program acceptable)

* Current state license (if in state requiring profession license) or certification/registration as required by field of practice is required.

* Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control (CBIC) is required.
