ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

- Plan and perform field work, including surface water, wastewater, groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, and air sampling;

- Conduct biological and ecological resource studies including wildlife habitat assessments, listed threatened and endangered species assessments, native and invasive plant vegetation surveys, and wetland mitigation monitoring;

- Conduct environmental inspections for compliance with permit conditions including NPDES stormwater compliance, wetlands permits, navigable waters permits, and other state and federal environmental regulations;

- Assist clients to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations;

- Assist in the preparation of the final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices;

- Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers & clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings; and

- Support government projects that may require DOD/DOE clearance.

- Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.

- Fieldwork: Up to 60%

- Overnight travel: Up to 60%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources (e.g., fisheries, biology, ecology etc.), environmental engineering, or environmental management disciplines. (required)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- In order to comply with government contract requirements and associated clearance requirements for this position, U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Current DOD/DOE clearance or ability to obtain DOD/DOE clearance. (required)

- Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)

- Training or experience in wetland delineations. (preferred)

- Experience with field data collection and field data reporting. (preferred)

- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)

- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
