About your role
You'll design and implement enhancements to Disaster Recovery and Backup and Restore to make a scalable, distributed database system even more resilient to user error and system failures. You'll face interesting challenges and improve your designs for a system that is engineered to store many petabytes of data.

Fault tolerance and disaster recovery are highly important to our customers, many of whom consider the Vertica Analytics Database to be mission critical. It's an exciting time to join the team. There is high demand for innovative functionality and our engineers are constantly thinking of new ways to make data storage more resilient.

Required skills
- C/C++ or Java or Python
- Proficient with multi-threaded applications
- Customer focused with the ability to work in a cross-functional team with QA, documentation and others
- Advanced knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Excellent communication

Desired skills
- Database internals
- Distributed systems
- Willingness and ability to mentor interns and junior team members
- SQL
