Job Description:

The Assistant Manager, Data Managment works closely with Manager, Business Intelligence to assist in managing the organization, governance, and maintenance of data across the enterprise. Assists in collaborating with IT delivery leads and project managers on project initiation activities such as project definition, dependencies, scope, resourcing, and budgets. Coordinates data management and governance initiatives and runs weekly status meetings to ensure continued progress or adjustment to plans to accommodate for strategic changes and unexpected business needs. Manages the intake process for BI requests and initiatives.

- Assists in managing Data Management projects to ensure requirements and project deliverable dates can be clearly communicated to the stakeholders.

- Collaborates with VP Business Intelligence and Manager, Business Intelligence to formulate data management strategies for advancing data analytics applications throughout the organization.

- Coordinates identification of data collection requirements.

- Assists in defining and implementing data quality rules.

- Ensures solutions to technical problems through discussion with technical teams to resolve problems.

- Partners with development team members to understand opportunities and limitations of solutions being implemented.

- Manages all deliverables with any required external vendors.

- Assists in identifying, procuring and managing outside vendors, including consultants; assists in determining which are best suited for business intelligence efforts.

- Assists in managing resources for each assigned project to ensure that the project remains on schedule.

- Works closely with internal customers to remain in full communication on the status and details of each project, including any hazards that may arise.

- Assists Manager, Business Intelligence in determining solutions and options to resolve problems related to data management initiatives such as project definition, dependencies, scope, resourcing and budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Ability):

- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of demonstrated experience, or equivalent years of training and experience, in managing technical or Business Intelligence projects, including a solid technical understanding of the Data Management Maturity Lifecycle.

- Broad-based data systems, technical management, or business experience in a dynamic technology environment.

- Familiar with Agile Development Methodology. Experience using Agile methods such as Scrum or Lean Development. Scrum Master experience/training a plus.

- Must be detail-oriented.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.

- Ability to clearly communicate with managers and associates at all levels.

- Finance industry related experience a plus.

- Experience with financial systems is a plus.

- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure preferred.
