Job Description:

Position Overview
Reports to company CEO and takes day to day direction from Business Group Managers (GM).
The main responsibility of this role is to focus on business development efforts of all types to assist in meeting the company's growth strategies across all business lines. This includes coordinating with other Business Development Managers and other management personnel on the following, including but not limited to:
- Business strategy
- Identifying, developing and implementing opportunity pursuits and strategies
- Proposal development including writing, consulting, leading, and/or reviewing proposal documents
- Improving and expanding client contact networks
- Maintaining prospect data in the corporate BD and Forecasting database (Salesforce) all with the goal of agreeing upon and implementing the correct path forward for you, the team, and the company to progress for any discreet or broader effort
- Establish or expand upon strategic relationships with national agency clients
- Identify additional strategic industry partners to expand our client base
- Maintain board member roles with SAME and/or others as identified; identify and develop transition opportunities for other Versar leaders
- Identify speaker/facilitator opportunities at national events
- Cross-sell all Versar business unit capabilities
- Lead or participate in Strategic Account Management (includes Pipeline and Backlog goals) when appropriate
General
- Collaborate with GMs and Technical Service Leaders (TSL) to lead/support proposal efforts as required.
- Participate in mentoring mid-level and senior leadership on Capture Management, Proposal Management, and other Business Development best practices
- Identify Commercial business growth opportunities
- Participate in the Versar M&A initiative
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Sales/Marketing, Business, Engineering or related fields
- 10+ years' demonstrated success working in a Business Development role in the Federal market
- Capture experience with major federal acquisition vehicles
- Solid knowledge of FAR, DFAR and other regulations
- Demonstrated experience leading life cycle business development efforts resulting in awards of significant value
- Exceptional relationship building/relationship management skills to establish rapport, trust and confidence with both the client and operational teams
- Experience with customer relationship management and opportunity tracking
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, to include Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Energetic, enthusiastic, organized and self-starter
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
- Professional license (PE, RA) or certification (PMP, CPSM,) a plus
- Business travel is required
