We are currently hiring a Packaging Supervisor in Milton, DE.

Ensures that healthy beer efficiently flows into kegs and bottles, efficiently, on schedule and on time. Champions departmental efficiency, quality, safety and cleanliness initiatives. Provides leadership by example and selects, trains and retains a staff of superior performers.

What You'll Do:

- Maintains responsibility for monitoring and maintaining effective cost controls, in regards to efficiencies, waste, overtime, and staffing.

- Adheres to budgetary guidelines.

- Provides leadership by example and participates in the selection, training and retaining of a staff of superior performers.

- Collaborates with the Brewing and maintenance teams to ensure beer is ready for packaging per schedule, quality is maintained and all packaging machines are consistently ready to run and properly maintained.

- Champions all safety, recycling, quality, environmental, and cleanliness initiatives, ensuring team compliance to all procedures and practices.

- Builds teams through a variety of means, feedback, provides example, communicates openly and builds collaboration between people.

- Ensures production is accurately and fully documented for timely reporting and thorough recordkeeping.

- Creates, communicates, trains and maintains accurate and current SOPs for all positions and Packaging programs.

- Champions an effective and efficient packaging line, ensures consistent and timely start-up to achieve efficiency goals and other desired metrics.

- Collaborates with the Warehouse to monitor and report inventory; troubleshoots inventory concerns.

- Fosters continual job and process improvement by taking an active role in individual and team success, constructively challenges status quo.

- Conducts staff meetings at regular intervals and communicates, distributes and disseminates pertinent information to staff as available.

- Builds cohesive teams both through leadership and accountability as well as creative means and exercises; maintains symbiotic working relationship with peers on adjoining shifts.

- Participates in sensory training and analysis for the betterment of the department and the beer.

- Reports and documents daily production and tracks production milestones as necessary.

- Directs staff to keep the lines running efficiently and effectively at all times.

- Supports materials handling/procurement/inventory process per departmental demands.

- In collaboration with Quality supervision champions quality assurance and control initiatives on the line, ensuring adequate training of staff and availability/adherence to proper work practices, policies and procedures.

- Packages beer and kegs as necessary.

- Controls costs through effective time management of people, efficient job rotation, staffing and scheduling.

- Fosters positive working relationships and good communication both within the packaging department and inter-departmentally.

- Enforces and adheres to all safety regulations as required by the position and the company's safety policy.

- Responsible for soliciting feedback from staff to evaluate and use as continuous improvement initiatives. Communicates improvement ideas to management in an effective manner prior to implementation.

- Communicates staffing and other needs deemed necessary to keep the lines running efficiently and effectively to high standards in a constructive and effective manner to the Packaging Manager.

- Performs special projects and tasks as assigned by management; delegates and hand-holds where appropriate.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Monitors efficiencies with regard to waste and other established metrics.

- Adheres to budgetary guidelines as established by plant Management.

- Must have 5 years of supervisory experience in a packaging/production environment (preferably in beverage/food processing).
