Position Summary

Supports the implementation, administration, and monitoring activities of any work team in the Corporate Compliance or Insurance Regulatory Compliance Departments, including the Market Conduct or Records Management functions. Participates in and completes activities and projects of low complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Gathers information from business areas on current processes. Organizes information and participates in activities to achieve compliance. Focuses on monitoring compliance training activities and assists in regulatory tracking of lower complexity tasks associated with any section in the Corporate Compliance or Insurance Regulatory Compliance Departments.

Assists more experienced Compliance Department Employees to ensure that all reasonable efforts are made to achieve consistency in compliance operations.

Assists in the detection, referral and reporting on compliance matters to more senior staff or management in the department and division.

Coordinates ERIE's response to low complexity requests for information from internal requestors and prepares related communications.

Assists in the coordination of ERIE's response to low complexity requests for information from insurance departments and other regulatory agencies.

Interacts with Employees in other Risk Assurance areas and with Employees in Learning and Development on compliance training activities and monitoring.

Provides support to more senior staff with compliance matters of varying complexity, including but not limited to participating in meetings, performing relevant research and assisting with documentation.

Assists in the research of low complexity compliance issues and participates in activities for achieving compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities (cont'd if applicable)

Maintains compliance tools to monitor processes, report on issues and respond to inquiries. Assists with organizing, maintaining, and updating information in data bases, on SharePoint, in MS Teams, and in other systems and applications as needed.

Maintains and updates information on ERIE's web sites specific to compliance policies and procedures.

Records Management

Monitors compliance with records retention procedures.

Coordinates disposition of scheduled records and recommends appropriate storage and disposition for inactive paper and electronic records.

Participates in meetings to assist senior staff with records management matters of low complexity.

Researches simple records management issues and develops recommendations and activities for achieving compliance.

Minimum Required Education Equivalents

 

Bachelor's degree; or

 

Associate's degree and/or Paralegal Degree/Certificate and two years' experience in property/casualty insurance, life insurance, healthcare, health insurance, financial services, or other regulated business or industry with a similar work environment required; or

 

High school diploma or GED and four years' experience in property/casualty insurance, life insurance, healthcare, health insurance, financial services, or other regulated business or industry with a similar work environment, required.

 

Willingness to pursue one or more insurance designations. Willingness to pursue relevant designations or training, such as Certificate of Compliance and Ethics Professional Program (CCEP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Essentials of Records and Information Management (RIM) Certificate preferred. Working knowledge of monitoring and auditing  processes preferred. Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software required. Familiarity with database software and SharePoint preferred. Occasional overnight travel required.
