We are seeking a RN Manager for Behavioral Health for our 16-bed unit to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Psychiatric nurses are experts in crisis intervention, mental health assessment, medication and therapy, and patient assistance. Psychiatric nurses work closely with patients to help them manage their mental illnesses and live productive, fulfilling lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for integrating their department's services with the hospitals primary functions.

* Coordinates and integrates services within their department(s) and with other departments.

* Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.

* Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/service and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members (who are not licensed independent practitioners) meet the needs of patient care and non-patient care services

* Provides orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in their department(s).

* Continuously assesses and improves their department's performance and maintains appropriate quality control programs.

* Recommends space and other resources needed by the department and participates in selecting outside resources needed by their department(s).

* The Senior Adult Unit Nurse Manager provides care for the Senior Adult population.

QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED

* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.

* Must hold a current license from the Missouri Board of Nursing or Compact license.

* BLS required

* NVCI required within 90 days of hire

* One to three years nursing experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is preferred which may include charge nurse experience.
